I hope some of the mistakes I have made lately won't dissuade your faith in me. Trying to run a business and stay on top of club business can be trying at best. Let me touch on two items briefly:
In letting the LO206 junior 2 Briggs drivers switch back from yellow slides to black slides was against Briggs weekly racing rules and stood to jeopardize our standings as far as points and awards at year end. Therefore its back to yellow slides; no quarter on this.
The ruling regarding the Powder Puff Race #2 situation has been determined to be against the spirit and intent of the rule book. Therefore I think an in-person vote by puff racers will settle the current situation at the next puff race in the fall. Puff racers only may attend and vote.
I'm just trying to take care of the things that fall on my shoulders and trying to keep the wheels from falling off our machine.
The Fall Race Series is upon us. I know we are all looking forward to cooler weather. However, we still have to get through August. So, the board of directors voted to move the first two races of the fall series to a 5pm start time. I know there has been discussion about this on the Facebook group, some for and some against. Regardless of how you feel about this, the board decided this was best. So, let's keep our eyes forward and plan for some great racing. Year-long championship points come down to this series. Best of luck to all competitors!
Lastly, a reminder to keep your speed down on our easement road.
